[Kato awakens very suddenly, eyes snapping open as a shudder runs through his body.

He can still see it - his air mines ripping through the air as they explode, Dist's magic turning the explosion into the greatest force he's ever seen-

...what?

Sitting up sharply, he looks around the familiar room. It's his private quarters, of course; where else would he be? He looks down to his hand, to investigate the detonator he knows is there-

...his hand is empty. How is that....was it just...?

It couldn't have just been a dream...could it?

Grimacing, Kato reaches over to his bedside table and grabs his Pokegear, roughly pulling on his clothes as he scrolls through his contacts. The phone app commences the call as he tugs on his shoes, impatiently tapping one foot on the floor.]

Come on....pick up....

[Despite his extremely odd awakening, Dr Kato is having a spectacular day. So spectacular, in fact, that he's felt the need to pop onto the Rocket network and brag about it.]

I have received a very special gift.

[Held tightly between his fingers is a fairly non-descript TM disc. Judging by the colouring it's for a Normal-type attack...but which one?]

When I was dragged back here, I never thought I'd be able to replicate the work I achieved in my first time here...but with this, I feel simply unstoppable. The world is my oyster.

[He lightly twirls the disc between his fingers, admiring the way it catches the light. He stops it on the opposite side to what was showing before, moving it towards the camera so that the small descriptive text can be seen.

What's rather interesting about this broadcast is the fact that his Gengar is floating beside him, cackling. Or, well, that in itself isn't the strange part - it's more the fact that said Gengar is wearing a pair of glasses identical to Kato's.

Does this world lack actual explosives, that you have to result in sacrificing animals?

[Continuing to smirk, Kato leans back from the camera, spreading his arms wide.]

Explosion is the greatest move a Pokemon can learn. It's an expression of the destructive power they hold within themselves, channeled outward in a blast of incredible force. They turn themselves into a bomb, and it is beautiful.

[Spoiler: this dude is pretty insane.]

That is why the usage of revival items is justified. Not that I tend to need any after the first blast, of course.

[When Dist awakens, he is greeted by the ringing of his PokeGear. Grumbling, he reaches for the 'Gear. He feels absolutely terrible, so the person calling better have a good reason for doing so and waking him up--

Oh, it's Kato.

Dist immediately recalls the dream he was just having before he woke up. Well that's an interesting coincidence...

He decides to put that thought on hold though, because otherwise he'll miss the call. So he drags the 'Gear back into bed with him and answers.]

Kato? What is it?

[He sounds groggy and slightly disoriented. He did answer after just waking up from a week-long sleep, after all.]

[When he hears Dist's tired voice on the other end, Kato pauses and contemplates how ridiculous this is. Did he really just wake his partner up over a goddamn nightmare? Obviously he isn't properly awake himself.

Rubbing at his eyes, Kato sighs.]

[Dist is silent for quite some time, which could either be a good thing or a bad thing for Kato. Either he did dream about a castle or he's seriously judging Kato for waking him up to even ask such a thing.
