[That moment of uncertainly is more than enough for Kato to consider his theory correct, and his smirk widens slightly - after all, it is quite the ego stroke, should he turn out to be correct (but there's no question about that! He is a genius, after all).]
You couldn't have chosen a more appropriate day for it, no. But coincidentally, that brings me back to the topic of my gift...
[Neatly sliding the drawer open, Kato reaches inside and pulls out a pearly white envelope, before reaching down and collecting something from out of sight, behind his desk (he could hardly shove it in a drawer, after all!). It's a small bouquet, composed of two types of flowers - ones Dist might find familiar. The card inside the envelope isn't the traditional sort, instead being a single piece of cardboard with no folds or messages. On it, however, is a hand-painted red rose, with a small 'K' in the corner.
Holding out the bouquet with the envelope balanced neatly between his fingers, Kato places the other hand on his hip and continues to smirk - although perhaps in a less 'i'm going to blow up everything and cackle madly' sort of manner, and more...well, amused, but it's a fond sort of amused!]

Happy Valentine's Day, Dist.
